Duchenne UK

One mission. End Duchenne.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a progressive genetic disease that is diagnosed in childhood. It is the most common and most severe form of muscular dystrophy, and it gradually weakens every muscle in the body. There is currently no cure.

Duchenne UK was set up by families in 2012. Since then it has worked to speed up research, clinical trials and access to new treatments, and to support the people living with Duchenne today. It funds the research and trial networks that bring new treatments closer. It also campaigns for the NHS to fund those treatments, and it publishes care guidance for families.
